Good day eh? Intro
Good day to all of you and thanks for letting me be part of the gang. My name is Simon Blastock and I'm dialing in from London, Ontario, Canada, originally from Leicester, UK. First I'd like to wish you all a Merry Christmas and Happy holidays, and for members who are currently serving on taskings, "keep your head down and your powder dry!". I played "silly bugger" in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Reservist for 15 years and enjoyed it immensely, making life-long friends. When looking into this, there are only two clubs in Canada for Canadian Armed Forces, serving/ex-serving - the Canadian Forces Motorcyle Club and the CAV Motorcycle Club - and trust me they don't take scooterists. So, it was great to see you guys support scooterists that are either Her Majesty's or NATO. The scooter scene here is small, generally more out west (5 hour flight) or down south in the USA. Down south has a way better music scene, which we really don't have here, and it's supported well with Ska, Psychobilly, Punk and street punk bands that are upcoming and well established. I am lucky because I live close to such a large area where I can travel if I want to in order to see them play. Within Canada I guess you could say that the popularity of scooterists was at its height during the 80's when Two Tone hit our colonial shores. However, the Scooterists today, even though small in numbers, are still fun loving and enjoy getting together and having a good time. Just to give you an idea of what Canada is like, you have 30million people spread out throughout the country from East to West coast. In Ontario alone, you can fit England (land-size) 3 times with a population of only about 12million people. Our winters are shite and our riding season is shorter than yours as a result of it. You might also be surprised that in a country of that size, our armed forces are much smaller than yours. I look forward to chatting with any of the members here and hope to meet some of you personally on my travels to "Old Blighty" when I visit my family. I have family in Immingham, Derby, Leicester, Worksop and on Hayling Island.
Cheers to you ALL! Simon "Slimes" Blastock
P.S. Go Foxes - yes I still support Leicester City!

Welcome Simon. My family are based very close to Immingham, North Lincolnshire although I have been exiled to East Lancashire since I left the RAF. We are enjoying some Canadian winter stylee weather at the moment. Merry Christmas
